Today’s generation of youngsters is lucky to have the opportunity to get a hold of new, shiny gadgets even at an early age.  While kids even just five years ago only had to content themselves with playing games on a console, their counterparts today have the most interactive experiences when playing games on a tablet PC.

There are a lot of apps that have been developed specifically for kids to help them with their education, but of course, there are also many apps for kids that they can use for fun.  If you have yet to try out an iPad for your kid, you can check those who are willing to sell tablet at a low price so you can get a bargain. After all, is it really the best idea to let a kid play with a brand new $500 device?

On the other hand, if you already have an iPad but are at a loss as to what app to download for kids to enjoy, here are some suggestions.

  • Ant Smasher (Free) – This is a fun game which even adults can find amusing. All you have to do is to smash the ants that are crawling on the screen but taking care to avoid smashing the bees. It is fun and addicting and not to mention it is a good way of developing the kid’s reflexes.
  • Helicopter Taxi ($1.99) – Kids who love cars and other modes of transportation will surely love this app. What is does is that it mimics the environment as if the kid is inside a helicopter by using the device’s camera.  It will seem that the kid is flying across the room and moving the device around will steer the helicopter. It can even land on different surfaces to pick up passengers.
  • Cut the Rope ($.99) – This app will not only entertain your kids but also make them use their minds while playing. This game can help kids develop critical thinking, as they need to strategize on how to cut the rope to feed the cupcake to the waiting animal.  It has a free version that you can download but the levels are limited.  For a very minimal amount, your kids will have hours of fun playing it. The strategies involved can make even adults addicted to the game. You wouldn’t really mind spending a lot of cash for tablet PC apps if all apps were this exciting and educational.
  • Plants vs. Zombies ($2.99) – What can we say about PvZ? The game, on its way to becoming a classic, appeals to both kids and adults.  The 50 levels of play will ensure that the kids will be preoccupied for quite some time.
  • Disney Fairies Fly ($4.99) – Quite pricier than most apps but little girls will enjoy playing this game. Play the game by tilting the device to lead the chosen fairy through Pixie Hollow while collecting treasures and avoiding the blocks and obstacles.  It also includes wallpapers, still shots and videos from the movie.

These apps will surely make you visit stores that sell iPad to buy one now for you (or your kid).
